The Measure of Academic Progress test or MAP, is administered in Seattle Public Schools.  There is only one problem; the margin of error for this test is expected to be grater than the academic gains on the test.  Teachers are smart people and know administering the MAP test is a colossal waste of their time and students’ time.  In addition, teachers were upset the test took up valuable instructional time and monopolized resources like computers labs needed for learning not for testing.  So teachers in the Seattle Public School District, specifically Garfield High School, are boycotting the MAP test.  The Superintendent supports them too!    For standing up to unnecessary and annoying testing, Garfield High School teachers in Seattle Washington, you are ConversationED’s Hump Day Heroes!
