My comment is the same today as seven years ago, repeal compulsory education laws in your state. Parents, not the state, are responsible for training their offspring to become parents. Watch this video again with your child, your community in mind. Did you hear any mention of why we educate our offsprings?

None of us are like our parents or our siblings. We are specialists, with different skills and abilities, in need of development. The United States succeeded more than any nation before or since because as a nation we believed in freedom of education that included the original common core, ethics, morality, integrity and a rich knowledge of history. Upon that common core foundation we rewarded the specialists with patents, copyrights and trademarks.

Worldwide man is becoming more interdependent because of technology. To build an iPad requires more individuals with specialized knowledge than are needed to build a pencil. Nether device can be built without mutual trust. The next generation of technology will require an even greater number of specialists and even more mutual trust. The nation with the most specialist who can be trusted to provide the most service to their fellow man will be in demand.

During the 19th century, prior to compulsory education, the specialist of the United States enjoyed the highest standard of living, while producing over 50% of the worlds production. We turned the lights on and the world came like moths in the night to our shining city on the hill.

Today our compulsory education system is producing Model Cities like Detroit. Our NAEP scores remain at the 1970 basement level of the Iowa Basic Skills test while PISA scores continue to reflect the number of jobs going overseas in search of specialists.
