I do believe that relationship and connection are key. I think that’s why I had such a tough time this year when I had more than a few kids who refused to let me make a connection. Yes, those kids do exist. So, our year was “long and arduous”. Not just for me, but for the entire class.

Next year, I am going to try the “you were chosen for my class” speech! Maybe I can reach those I used to view as “unreachable” that way!
